Welcome to the Virtual Garden of Appreciation

The Garden of Appreciation is an actual paved garden situated across the river from Te Omanga Hospice in Bracken Street, Petone. It is a tranquil, serene environment where families can visit to commemorate a loved one. The gardens are peaceful and well maintained, surrounded by established trees and abundant birdlife. They are a beautiful space in which to spend time in reflection and remembrance.

Bricks are engraved with a loved ones name and other details and then laid in one of the garden's many paved pathways as a lasting tribute to the individual or family. Quality clay bricks are supplied for $100 and this price entitles you to have 2 Lines of 14 Characters (including letter spacing) on each brick.

Once bricks have been engraved and laid into the garden this then becomes a lasting record of your kind donation to the hospice and a place of remembrance of your special someone.

If you simply wish to make an online donation and leave a simple message in memory of someone on our hospice programme, then you can add a floral tribute into the garden by selecting a virtual flower instead. Other friends and family are then able to "hover" over your purchased flower and see the message and tribute you have added to the virtual Garden of Appreciation

Both the actual Garden of Appreciation and this virtual one have been set up as a result of a partnership between Te Omanga Hospice, Stokes Valley Rotary Club and Hutt City Council. Each flower and brick purchase made here directly supports the care and support of patients and their families on the hospice programme of care and helps to keep services free of charge for all those diagnosed with a terminal illness.
